A spacious warehouse with white walls houses what is now a
record store, Josey Records. Isles with
wooden crates that store vinyl and a few tapes, take up some of the space. By
the window there is a lounging area where customers can sit down and relax.
There is also a Disc Jockey booth where the store owners play some of their
favorite records. Records players with headphones
are also available so customers can listen to records before purchasing them.

Luke Sardello, Josey Records Co-Owner said him and his
buddies came together and thought about opening a record store. Josey Records
has been opened for about a year and crowds of all ages come and shop around
for records. Everyone from collectors, families and DJ’s come visit Josey
Records. At first Sardello thought about opening a boutique style record store
then decided they wanted to go big with it and have a large space. Sardello
said Dallas needed another record store, a visual. He said cities like Chicago and New York
have stores all over the place and it was time for Dallas to have some more
stores opening up.
Sardello said it “felt right” to go with a spacious location
for the record store. Josey Records has had DJ events already but Sardello
hopes to host more events in the store. In the he future plans to have a
stage placed by the wall that has the Josey Records logo, so bands can come and play shows. An
art show is another event Sardello plans to host in the future.
